About me

I am now an accredited play therapist and senior certified clinical supervisor. I qualified as a certified play therapist in March 2010 following my Post-Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy with  APAC and Canterbury Christ Church University. I currently work as an employed and freelance play therapist and clinical supervisor within Kent. I am joint editor of the 'Play for Life' journal.

My professional background also includes working as a primary teacher full-time for 7 years and part-time as a supply teacher for 6 years. I worked as an Assistant Director of Education (Children's Work) for 6 years prior to retraining as a play therapist. I have BA(Hons)QTS and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Surrey.

I am a full member of Play Therapy UK, fully insured and hold a current CRB. I adhere to the strict guidelines of PTUK for ethical practice and clinical governance. I follow Child Protection Procedures and receive regular clinical supervision for my work. Each year I maintain my skills and practice with regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

I've completed over 1400 clinical hours with children within a variety of different placements. I have experience with dealing with issues of loss and bereavement, attachment, separation and divorce, ADHD, Autism, Aspergers' Syndrome, domestic violence, fostering and LAC, self-esteem, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
